How To TV was established in 2007 and specialises in creating brand funded interactive video that the audience wants to actively engage with.
Our innovative LinkTo™ video technology allows viewers to click on interactive hotspots to gain more information on highlighted products and add them into a shopping basket on a 3rd party retailer or client website.
In 2009 we made the LinkTo technology available as www.linkto.tv for users to upload their own videos and add hotspots themselves, paying by credit card for the embed code. The technology is now available to work across other video platforms including YouTube, Brightcove and Ooyala.
Crucially, the LinkTo player has now been integrated into Facebook, becoming the first interactive video player to work within the Facebook Timeline allowing users to interact with the videos and share with their friends. LinkTo can also be used within a custom channel on YouTube.
Using the embedded Youtube option we achieved another first by integrating the LinkTo technology with Couponstar’s platform so that we became the first player to enable users to print a coupon from within a video player, embedded into the Facebook wall. This has been used for P&G in the UK with Febreze and for this work, we have been shortlisted as Brand Innovator of the year 2012 in the Marketing Week Engage Awards.
