HowTo TV produced a series of five online videos for npower aimed at educating consumers about the use of solar power for energy. With the increasing desire for people to be eco-conscious and reduce their carbon footprint, the major energy suppliers are under much pressure to be leading the field in renewables. Video was thus an excellent way for npower to show individual households what their options actually are, whilst demonstrating the investment they are making in this area, outshining their competitors.
HowTo TV commissioned a Tickbox.net research survey to generate radio coverage of the videos’ launch. In addition we streamed a live webTV chat show with the videos’ presenter Oliver Heath and Head of Micogeneration for npower Helen Steed, which was syndicated across highly targeted websites.
The overall coverage gained for the videos was outstanding, spanning 58 radio stations and 31 websites.
Chris James, Head of Sustainable Technologies at npower said:-
“Howto.tv were very professional in their approach to the project to deliver a set of videos to easily explain how microgeneration works. The quality of production exceeded our expectations and we now have a valuable resource with which to promote microgeneration. The ability to show prospective customers how this complex technology works, allows us to create greater engagement with the customer and provides us with a competitive advantage over other suppliers. The PR coverage that Howto.tv provided to support the launch also generated increased interest on the website and has allowed npower to raise awareness of its solar products.”
